Strataderm (professional-grade silicone gel) is recommended as the gold standard, first-line non-invasive therapy for the prevention and treatment of abnormal scars.

Use Strataderm once per day on your surgical scars to:

• Prevent abnormal and excessive scar formation

• Softens and flatten scars

• Relieve the itching and discomfort of scars

• Reduce redness and discolouration associated with scars

Commence Strataderm once your wounds have closed and your dressings have been removed, typically 1-2 weeks post-op. The general recommended treatment time for Strataderm is 90 days from this point. A Stratagem 5g tube is included in our rhinoplasty packages to provide approximately a 90 day supply to nasal incisions. Always follow your surgeon’s advice. Sinus Flo. Our packages contain enough Sinus Flo nasal wash to be used for two weeks pre-operatively and post-operatively, as per many surgeons’ rhinoplasty protocol. For this reason, we advise that you order your package in time for it to arrive at least two weeks prior to your scheduled surgery.

Sleep support. Sleep is an essential part of surgical recovery. A neck pillow is a must-have to prevent neck strain and comfortably sit in bed for extended periods of time (e.g. on your laptop). After rhinoplasty, surgeons advise their patients to sleep in an upright position on their back for a 6 week period. When sleeping on your back, your neck pillow will also provide additional head support to maximise your comfort in this position. Zip-off washable cover included (navy).

The neck pillow, also memory foam, provides comfort and prevents neck strain as you sit in bed for extended periods of time (e.g. on your laptop). Add onto your wedge pillow at night to provide additional comfort to your head as you sleep on your back at night. Zip-off washable cover included (navy).

Cold packs. Apply our plush, reusable cool packs to reduce pain, bruising & swelling. Apply ice around the facial area but not directly over your incisions. Ice for 10 minutes at a time. Wait 20 minutes before reapplying. The plush side icepacks are designed to be applied directly to the skin, but wrap in a paper towel or cloth if too sensitive. Stop using icepacks if irritation occurs. Always follow your surgeon’s advice.

If you have had facial fat grafting, DO NOT apply ice around the area. Instead, our cold packs can be applied around your fat harvesting area (e.g. stomach or inner thighs).

Soothing heat pack. Enjoy a calming lavender scent wheat pack to provide extra comfort to your muscles, especially your back & neck, as you rest and recover from your breast augmentation. We stock these heat packs to support another Australian small business. DO NOT use over surgical incisions or fat grafting areas. Always follow your surgeon’s advice.

How To Use

Put your wheatbag in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. We don’t recommend heating them for more than 2 and half minutes as they become too hot to put comfortably on your skin. Keep in mind wheatbags may not feel very warm when you first remove them from the microwave as the heat is concentrated in the middle of the bag. Give it a shake and it will start to feel warmer!

Then place on areas of soreness or aching. Allow time for the heat to gently seep into the muscles or sore area.

The heatpack will last between 30-45 min depending on the surrounding air temperature.

Wheatbags also make great cold packs. Place in the freezer for at least 30min until it’s cold. Don’t worry it won’t freeze as there’s no water content! You can even store it in there so it’s always ready. Keep it in a freezer safe container.

Hydration is essential post-surgery. Hydratee to best recover from anaesthetic, support healing, and minimise constipation from pain medication. Due to anaesthetic, pain medications, bed rest, and altered eating patterns, constipation is an inevitable part of surgical recovery. For this reason, the pharmacist & surgeon recommended post-surgical laxative is included within your recovery package (Coloxyl with Senna - 30 tablets). Although Coloxyl with Senna is the recommended post-surgical medication to prevent constipation, we can arrange to swap this with Movicol upon request. Always follow medical advice.

Feel fresh as a daisy. You will not be able to shower for about a week after rhinoplasty, depending on your surgeon’s protocol.
